Happy New Year (almost)!

We will have a New Year’s Eve Kirtan at the main Temple this Tuesday, December 31, from 9 – 11:15 p.m., followed by the New Year’s Eve Meditation with the Minister from 11:30 until 12:15 a.m. Many have found this to be an inspirational way to begin the New Year.

Please note that the Encinitas Meditation Gardens will be closed on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1.

Please also note that the J Street Chapel will be open for private meditation from 12 – 4 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

Our holidays continue as we celebrate the birthday of our Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, next Sunday, January 5. A commemorative service will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  It is customary to bring a flower and a donation in an envelope. Families attending will be invited to come forward at the beginning of the offerings. Both the main Temple and the J Street Chapel will be open for meditation between 6 and 6:45 p.m.

In addition, we will have a 6-hour meditation in honor of our Guru at the main Temple and the J Street Chapel on Saturday, January 11, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Please bring only a fruit offering for this service. The Special Events Room will not be open that day.

Saturday, January 4: The SRF Lessons Study Group is reading from Supplement Lesson 24, “The Science of Habits and Self-control.”
