The 2026 Self-Realization World Convocation is just around the corner, and we hope you can join us in Los Angeles for this week of spiritual renewal.
We are happy to share that we have opened registration for the Mother Center pilgrimage tours during Convocation to local Southern California residents. Tours take place on Monday, August 3rd; Tuesday, August 4th; and Thursday, August 6th. To register for Convocation and sign up for a pilgrimage tour, please visit convocation.yogananda.org.
For those attending Convocation in Los Angeles, consider taking one of the Temple’s chartered buses to and from Convocation. On Sunday, August 2, one bus will depart 215 K Street near the Ashram parking lot gate at 10:00 a.m. On Saturday, August 8, one bus will leave the Bonaventure Hotel at 4 p.m.to return to Encinitas. Tickets are selling quickly but a few are still available online at encinitastemple.org.
If you are not attending the Convocation in person, you are warmly invited to come to the main Temple where most of the Convocation events will be livestreamed. The Temple will also remain open between events for individual meditation. Please pick up a schedule in the foyer for the times of each Convocation livestreamed event.
All are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service for John Jalkanen, who served as Volunteer Coordinator at Encinitas Temple for 26 years. The service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in the main Temple. Following the memorial service, all are warmly invited to attend a 4 p.m. reception, which includes a complete catered Indian dinner, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship located at 1036 Solana Drive in Solana Beach.
It’s a ten-minute drive, and since parking is limited, carpooling is recommended.
We will honor our Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, with a special Guru Purnima Celebration with Meditation and Kirtan led by the Minister at the J Street Chapel on Wednesday, July 29, from 7 – 9 p.m. Group practice of the Energization Exercises will begin on the patio at 6:40 p.m.
On Sunday, August 9, the Meditation Gardens will be closed for SRF’s Convocation Pilgrimage.
Can you believe it? India Night is just around the corner. So, mark your calendars for Saturday, August 29 – an enchanted evening you won’t forget! Stay tuned for details in upcoming announcements following the SRF Convocation. In the meantime, India Night tickets for adults and children (ages 12 and under) will be available for purchase online at encinitastemple.org.
Saturday, August 1: The SRF Lessons Study Group is reading from Supplemental Lesson 38, “Metaphysical Ways of Overcoming Death.”
Sunday, August 2: The Bhagavad Gita Study Group is canceled for the first day of Convocation.
