Happy Mother’s Day!
The Encinitas Young Adults Group will meet this coming Tuesday, May 13, from 6-8 p.m. This event will begin with a meditation in the Main Temple, followed by some fun activities in the Special Events Room on the theme, “Experiencing Faith Through Affirmations.” The meeting will conclude with food and fellowship. Those between the ages of 18-40 are welcome to attend.
If you would like to visit the Encinitas Hermitage where Paramahansa Yogananda resided, spent much time in deep, divine communion with God, and wrote Autobiography of a Yogi, please note that it will open 12:00-2:00 p.m. next Sunday, May 18. Please visit encinitastemple.org and click on “Make reservations to visit SRF Hermitage.”
Come and meet fellow devotees this coming Saturday morning, May 17, helping to maintain and beautify our Temple and J Street Chapel. We begin at 8:30 a.m. with a half-hour meditation led by the minister in the main Temple. We then meet on the Temple patio as we break into cleaning, gardening, and maintenance groups. At 11:40 a.m. we will have another meditation with the minister right before enjoying a delicious vegetarian lunch at noon. Families are most welcome to participate, and children will be guided in some fun activities.
Our Temple Meeting takes place on Tuesday, May 20, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the main Temple. The meeting begins with a short inspirational talk followed by a half-hour meditation, Temple updates, Q&A (Questions and Answers) on Temple matters, and an Autobiography of a Yogi study class given by the minister. All are welcome.
Please note: Cyclovia Encinitas, the car-free open street event, will take place next Sunday, May 18, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. South Coast Highway 101 will be closed to traffic from D Street to J Street. Allow extra time for parking. The options will be 2nd and 3rd Streets; Encinitas City Hall Parking Lot; and Moonlight Beach Parking Lot.
If you are new to the Encinitas Temple or to Self-Realization Fellowship, feel free to visit the Greeters table on the patio. There you will find a wide variety of free literature with information about SRF and Encinitas Temple services and activities as well as volunteers to answer your questions. We look forward to meeting you!
